US Truck Driving School Course Program
US truck driving school program is designed to train people who have no experience or training as over-the-road tractor-trailer truck drivers. It will prepare them for entry level employment in the transportation industry. The US truck driving school course lasts twenty days (160 hours) and includes:
• 30 hours of classroom instruction
• 10 hours of laboratory and parked vehicle instruction
• 40 hours of driving range basic vehicle handling
• 80 hours of public roadways driving and observing other drivers while with a qualified driver instructor

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
• Be at least 18 to enroll in United States Truck Driving School.
• Have a high school diploma, a GED, or be judged able to benefit from the program through an interview and written test.
• Be able to pass the United States Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
• Have a valid Commercial Drivers License (CDL) permit or other state-required licensing and Social Security or resident alien card.
• Know the English language according to Department of Transportation standards.
• Pass a mandatory drug screen.
The US truck driving school combines the Class A and Class B programs into a 5-week, 186 hour course. It covers general knowledge, combinations, endorsements listed below, pre-trip inspection, air brakes and log books. Practical skills governing sliding fifth-wheels and tandems as well as uncoupling and coupling (drop and hook) are taught. Also included are truck and trailer maintenance, troubleshooting and repair. The hands-on portion of the program covers basic control skills (alley docking, parallel parking and straight line backing) in addition to general driving. The graduating student will have completed training driving both big rigs and passenger buses.
Endorsements include: Doubles/Triples, Tank Vehicles, Passenger and Hazardous materials training. Class A CDL program is offered every two weeks, year-round for both English and Spanish speakers. The course is 160 hours, either 4 weeks full-time, or 8 weeks part-time. Tuition is evenly split between the classroom and in-truck training. The program covers all the areas discussed above for the Class A/P program except bus driving and the passenger endorsement.
Endorsements include: Doubles/Triples, Tank Vehicles and Hazardous materials training. Another Class B/P CDL program is designed for the US truck driving school student who is interested in bus driving or Class B trucks. Tuition is 3 weeks, 120 hours, and provides the necessary training for operating commercial vehicles in excess of 13 tons, gross vehicle weight. This includes cement mixers, dump trucks and large delivery trucks with trailers less than 5 tons vehicle weight. The program covers general knowledge, the endorsements listed below, pre-trip inspection and air brakes. Also included are equipment maintenance, troubleshooting and repair. The hands-on portion of training includes basic control and manoeuvrability skills as well as general driving proficiency. EQUIPMENT:
The fleet of training trucks are all late-model, Freightliner FLD-120 conventional cabs with 208-228” wheelbases. All training vehicles have manual transmissions. Trailers range from 40-45’ in length. Training equipment also includes buses. ACCREDITATION:

The 4-week course provides 160 hours of training. One week of this time is spent learning the DOT Rules & Regulations, Log Book Hours of Service, Air Brakes and completing all CDL Endorsement testing. The remaining 3 weeks is divided between skills practice in the truck and behind the wheel driving. 6-Week Program:
The 6-week course provides 240 hours of training, 80 extra hours of time in the tractor driving and doing skills practice. One week of this time is spent learning the DOT Rules & Regulations, Log Book Hours of Service, Air Brakes and completing all CDL Endorsement testing. The remaining 5 weeks is divided between skills practice in the truck and behind the wheel driving. PAYMENT OPTIONS:
